Faces of Kingsmen: Swee Lim’s 28-year Journey at Kingsmen

by | 12 December 2024

How has your career evolved since you first joined Kingsmen?

In 1996, I joined Kingsmen as a new member of the Finance team and contributed to our journey to the Singapore Exchange (SGX). We later became publicly listed on the SGX Mainboard in 2008. Little did I know my path would take me through the bustling IT department, where I oversaw the setup of IT systems for our new building.

I even got to dive into the world of global exhibitions, working alongside our Projects team on various amazing events. I later found my passion in Procurement, where I had the opportunity to build a team and negotiate contracts that fueled our growth. It’s been quite a ride, and every twist and turn has shaped me into the professional I am today.

What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen at Kingsmen over the years?

The transformation has been incredible! We’ve gone from fax machines to instant messaging, streamlining everything from approvals to communication. As we’ve expanded our global footprint, we’ve taken on diverse and exciting projects, pushing the boundaries of creativity. What truly excites me is our relentless pursuit of innovation. We’re always exploring new technologies and design trends, keeping us ahead of the curve and ready to tackle the future.

What keeps you motivated to come to work every day?

Every day brings a new challenge, a fresh opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals and contribute to something truly special. Our culture is one of innovation and teamwork, where ideas are celebrated, and collaboration is key.

The satisfaction of achieving our goals, the thrill of learning something new, and the camaraderie of my colleagues fuel my passion. It’s more than just a job; it’s a journey of continuous growth and fulfilment.
